Europe's foreign strategy significantly contributes to the EU's battle against terrorism.
The Bundespolice Inspection Rosenheim, a key security force, operates along approximately 200 kilometers of the German-Austrian border. Their primary mission is to prevent illegal entry of foreigners and uncontrolled migration, as well as ensuring the safety of rail passengers and infrastructure on around 370 kilometers of track and at about 70 stations and stops.
The operational area of the inspection covers the regions from Chiemsee to Zugspitze, encompassing the districts of Miesbach, Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and the city and district of Rosenheim. The inspection is staffed by around 450 personnel, who work tirelessly to maintain border security and combat cross-border crime.
Recent events have seen several arrests at border controls. On May 27th, several men were arrested, including a Syrian national without a passport or identification, who was previously registered in Germany. This individual was controlled on the A93 near Kiefersfelzen and was immediately forwarded to the responsible immigration office in Koblenz for a decision on his further stay in the country.
Another case involved a North African man, who claimed to be from Algeria and expressed interest in living in Germany and applying for asylum. However, upon inspection, he was found to have a small amount of marijuana and a pipe with detectable cocaine residue. As a result, he was ordered to leave the country immediately as part of the return decision made by the Federal Police.
In a separate incident, a Kosovar man was arrested at Rosenheim station for attempting to enter Germany without the necessary papers and with an entry ban from the Berchtesgadener Land district office. This individual had previously spent several months in prison and been released early, and was sentenced to imprisonment for a particularly serious case of theft by the Augsburg district court.
