EU's Innovative endeavor: The Leader Project, a preliminary trial
The Local Action Group LEADER District of Fürth e.V. (LAG) is offering an exciting opportunity for residents and organisations to implement innovative ideas that aim to sustainably improve the quality of life in the district of Fürth. The LAG is currently accepting project ideas for LEADER funding until the 27th of October, 2025.

The LEADER program focuses on improving public services, promoting climate and environmental protection, strengthening regional value creation, or fostering social cohesion. Eligible projects have a budget between 7,000 and 250,000 euros.
Projects oriented towards the common good are eligible for a 50% funding rate, while profit-oriented projects (e.g. for companies) are eligible for a 30% funding rate. The total amount available for the LAG until 2027 is 1.7 million euros, with approximately 700,000 euros still available for new applications.
After a positive decision, applicants can submit the funding application online to the Office for Food, Agriculture and Forestry. The LAG steering committee will evaluate applications on the 26th of November, 2025.
District Administrator, Bernd Obst, encourages everyone to submit their creative suggestions for the LEADER program. Recent steering committee meetings have seen the approval of two new projects, demonstrating the potential impact of innovative ideas in the district.
In addition to the LEADER program, the Austrian Climate Protection Ministry's "Umweltförderung im Inland" program also offers funding for innovative projects in public services, climate protection, environmental protection, regional value creation, and social cohesion. This program has a total budget of 1.7 million euros, with applications possible until the 27th of October, 2025.
