Expanded Family Assistance Hubs within our establishment

In a bid to strengthen family bonds and provide support for caregivers, the latest family support program by the organisation offers a wide array of services. The program, accessible to all families, regardless of origin, lifestyle, or social situation, is now available online at www.family-education.info.

The family support points, acting as hubs for shared family experiences and interaction, are located in various districts including Donaustauf, Lappersdorf, Neutraubling, Nittendorf, Regenstauf, Schierling, the inter-municipal family support points Donau-Wald (Woerth a. d. Donau, Wiesent, Brennberg), and Jura (Beratzhausen, Hemau, Laaber). The coordinating office for family education and family support points is situated at the Regensburg District Administration.

The program comprises of a variety of components designed to cater to the needs of different families. Playground meetings, parent breakfasts, thematically specific parent meetings, and offers for specific target groups such as single parents, rainbow families, or parents after separation are additional components of the family support program. Many events in the program are barrier-free or inclusive.

Supplementary to the KESS parent courses, there are thematic workshops on children's rights, resilience promotion, and self-confidence. Age-appropriately, these workshops convey central values such as participation, protection, and mutual respect. Proven formats such as "First Aid for Children" courses, events to strengthen the parent-child bond, to promote child resilience, and relaxation units for parents are part of the program.

New in the program are multi-part KESS parent courses in cooperation with the Kolping Adult Education Association e. V. The KESS parent courses are based on a democratic, relationship-oriented parenting concept and support parents in handling conflicts more calmly, providing orientation, and meeting their children on an equal level. The services include parent evenings, online lectures and workshops, open meetings, parent-child groups, children's courses, interactive activities, playground meetings, and shared family experiences.

The family support points are led by experienced professionals who listen, provide orientation, and, if necessary, refer to further support offers. The cooperation partnership with Kolping Erwachsenenbildungswerk e.V. for the KESS parent courses within the latest family support program was entered into by Ulrich Hoffmann as KESS course leader.

The contents of the KESS parent courses are practical and sustainable, catering to families in challenging situations. A particular focus is on offers that strengthen parenting skills and self-efficacy. The family support program continues to emphasize inclusivity and accessibility for all families.
