Expanded green area unveiled in Offenbach's city center
On November 14, 2024, Mayor Dr. Felix Schwenke and Building and Planning Commissioner Paul-Gerhard Weiß officially opened a new temporary green space in Offenbach, Germany. Located on the construction site at Herrnstraße 38, this welcoming oasis has been nicknamed the "Oasis of Relaxation."
The green space, made available to the city by property owner Kilian Bumiller, has been offered free of charge for a limited time. Bumiller, who has previously worked successfully with the city on similar projects, has played a significant role in the creation of this tranquil haven.
Mayor Dr. Schwenke expressed his satisfaction with the successful implementation of the green space and thanked Bumiller for his contribution. He described Bumiller's work as a fulfillment of his promise and a successful delivery.
Paul-Gerhard Weiß highlighted the significance of the project, stating that it provides a place for people to stay and move. He further explained that the green space offers opportunities for chatting, playing boules, having coffee, or simply taking a breath.
The "Oasis of Relaxation" is designed to last for approximately ten years and is part of the city's future concept "Green Belt," which aims to connect central places in the city centre and bring more green into the urban space.
