Expanded Lineup: Theory Introduces New PLC Series in Loudspeaker Controller Category

Theory Audio Design is set to introduce a new line of amplified loudspeaker controllers, the PLC Series, at the CEDIA Expo 2025. This innovative series, aimed at larger and more complex projects, will feature four new models: the PLC-4K8, PLC-8K8, PLC-9K4, and PLC-16K4.

Each model in the PLC Series offers exceptional sound reproduction and precise control, thanks to high-quality amplification, advanced DSP capabilities, and Power over Ethernet (PoE). The compact PLC controllers, only 1RU in size, are extremely power-dense, providing power outputs per channel of 500 W, 1000 W, 2250 W, or 4000 W.

The PLC Loudspeaker Controller platform, which includes proprietary Theory Loudspeaker presets, boasts three configurable 1 Gb network ports, one of which supports PoE. It also utilizes SmartRail energy-management power supplies, Power Factor Correction, and advanced DSP architecture. The platform is compliant with maritime standards and supports Native Dante and AES67 Audio over IP networking.

One standout feature of the PLC Loudspeaker Controller platform is its all-channel power sharing, allowing for easy amplifier restore through USB key. Paul Hales, Theory CEO, emphasized that the new PLC Series is designed to deliver reliable, energy-efficient, and sonically transparent performance, making it an ideal solution for a wide range of professional audio applications.
