New Vande Bharat Express Services Expand Across India

The Indian railways are set to introduce several new Vande Bharat Express trains, offering faster and safer travel experiences to passengers. Here's a roundup of the latest developments:

Varanasi-Meerut City Vande Bharat Express

Starting from August 27, the Varanasi-Meerut City Vande Bharat Express (22489) will commence its journey from Varanasi Junction at 9:10 in the morning, reaching Meerut City at 9:05 (21:05) at night. The journey takes 12 hours from both sides. The train will stop at Varanasi Junction via Ayodhya Dham Junction.

Meerut City-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express

The new route of the Meerut City-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express will be Meerut-Hapur-Moradabad-Bareilly-Lucknow Junction-Ayodhya Dham- Varanasi Junction. The train will start from Meerut City in the morning at 6:35 and reach Varanasi Junction at 6:25 (18:25) in the evening. This train will run every day except Tuesdays. The Meerut City-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express will be extended to Varanasi, increasing the number of Vande Bharat trains in Varanasi to seven.

Extension of Vande Bharat Train Services

The extension of Vande Bharat train services is underway, with the Meerut City-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express being the latest addition. This follows the introduction of the Vande Bharat train from Jammu and Kashmir to Punjab, connecting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (J&K) and Amritsar (Punjab).

Improved Safety and Security

The government has upgraded Vande Bharat express services with KAVACH (Train Collision Avoidance System) to increase safety in semi-high speed trains. The new coaches have Level-II safety integration certification for better train control. Improved security measures include four emergency windows in every coach and four platform side cameras including rear view cameras outside the coach, compared to earlier two.

New Vande Bharat Express Between Bhopal and Lucknow

A new Vande Bharat Express train will run between Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh and Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, featuring 20 sleeper coaches. The exact details of this service, including the launch date and timings, have not been announced yet.

PM Modi Launches Vande Bharat Express Trains

On August 10, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched three Vande Bharat Express trains at KSR Railway Station in Bengaluru, including the Bengaluru to Belagavi Vande Bharat Express.

The Vande Bharat Express is set to revolutionize rail travel in India, offering faster, safer, and more comfortable journeys to millions of passengers.
