In the scenic region of Krasnodar Krai, Russia, the cities of Sochi, Novorossiysk, and Anapa have seen significant changes in water consumption and supply over the past five years. These fluctuations are largely influenced by local tourism and related activities.

Sochi, famed for its year-round tourist flow and facilities built for the 2014 Winter Olympics, has witnessed a remarkable increase in water supply volume. Over the past five years, the city's water supply has grown by a substantial 30%, reaching an impressive 142 million cubic meters. This growth in water supply is primarily due to the city's active tourist flow and the frequent use of its facilities.

In contrast, the city of Anapa has experienced a 25% decrease in water consumption compared to the previous year. This drop is a direct result of restrictions following the emergency in the Kerch Strait, which has led to a decline in tourism. Unfortunately, Anapa has also seen the strongest increase in water intrusion among the resort cities in the region over the past five years.

Novorossiysk, another city in Krasnodar Krai, has seen a more modest increase in water supply volume compared to Sochi. Over the same period, the volume of water supply in Novorossiysk has grown by less than 2%, unlike Sochi.

Sochi's water consumption has also grown since 2019, with an increase of over 16% to reach 59.2 million cubic meters in 2020. This marks a significant rise in water consumption in the city, which can be attributed to its year-round tourist flow and active use of facilities built for the 2014 Winter Olympics.
