Expanding Urban Green Spaces for All: Community Gardens

Our platform is dedicated to promoting cooperative gardening, fostering the growth of school gardens, private gardens, non-profit gardens, and neighbourhood gardens across the US and Canada. One of our key initiatives is the Community Garden Grant Program, which provides financial support and educational resources to help transform vacant lots into productive community gardens.

The Community Garden Grant Program has made a significant impact, as exemplified by the SustainEd Farms project in Edgewater, Colorado. This project, among many others, has successfully promoted growth, access to fresh food, community building, and environmental improvement.

To share the stories of our sponsored gardeners, we have launched a video series. Hosted by LaManda Joy, author of "Start a Community Food Garden: The Essential Handbook", these videos feature interviews with past recipients of the Community Garden Grant Program. The interviews delve into the origin, struggles, and future plans of the garden projects, offering a unique insight into the transformative power of community gardening.

One such interview is with Merideth, who shares the story of a garden in Georgia that has transformed from an abandoned lot into a flourishing community resource. Another interview features Geoffrey, a community gardener whose impact in his community is palpable.

Beyond the US, our platform has supported various gardeners who have made significant impacts in their communities. For instance, a vibrant garden in Midtown Manhattan is providing a vital resource to New Yorkers in need, while a garden beyond the Las Vegas Strip is proving vital to the city's homeless population, bars, restaurants, and tourists.

In Delaware, a school garden has created a program that educates and brings together its community. Meanwhile, in a bustling city like New York, a garden is proving to be a vital resource for those in need. Beyond the city lights, a garden in a city like Las Vegas is offering a lifeline to its homeless population, local businesses, and tourists.

Subscribing to our platform's newsletter provides a free e-book, "How to Grow Delicious Tomatoes", along with gardening tips, videos, and more. We also share information about our sponsored gardeners on our website, offering a glimpse into the inspiring stories of those who are transforming their communities through gardening.

Though the Community Garden Grant Program is currently not running, future initiatives will be announced. In the meantime, we continue to support our community of gardeners and encourage others to join us in our mission to promote cooperative gardening and create thriving community gardens across the US and Canada.
