Experience Day at Home Shopping & Children's Festival in Bad Salzungen on September 25, 14.9.25
Bad Salzungen, a charming spa town in Germany, is set to host a diverse experience day on September 14, 2025. From morning till late evening, the town will be brimming with activities, exhibitions, and events for all ages.
The day kicks off with a visit to the Haunscher Hof registry office from 2 pm to 5 pm. Meanwhile, the City and Regional Library will open its doors from 1 pm to 5 pm, showcasing the "Greetings from Bad Salzungen" exhibition, a journey through two centuries of postcards from the city and its districts. Craft activities for children and library services will also be available.
The Museum am Gradierwerk will offer a permanent exhibition on the history of the saltworks and spa, a special exhibition "80 years later - Bad Salzungen in WWII", and salt boiling in the museum garden. Visitors can join guided tours at 2 pm, 4 pm, and 5 pm.
The event is supported by various local organisations, including the IHK, GEWOG GmbH Bad Salzungen, SOLEWELT Bad Salzungen, local retailers and restaurateurs, the Trade and Commerce Association, Wartburg Sparkasse, and WerraEnergie.
Refuge, located at Sulzberger Str. 9, will offer guided tours and wine tastings with owner Uwe Müller from 1 pm to 6 pm. The Ruine of the Husenkirche will also offer guided tours from 1 pm to 3 pm.
From 1 pm, a children's festival will take place in the city center, followed by a program in the music pavilion with the Steinbachbacher folk band at 2 pm. At 3 pm, there will be group singing in the Gradierwerk.
The Chapel St. Wendel will open from 3 pm, with a small book fair and refreshments available. MehrGenerationenHaus Bad Salzungen will provide entertainment and refreshments from 2 pm to 5 pm, including a play and paint corner and coffee and cake.
Schloss Wildprechtroda will offer guided tours with owner Otto von Butler from 10 am to 12 pm and 2:30 pm to 4 pm. The "Day of Open Heritage" is also part of the event, with the theme "Worthwhile: priceless or irreplaceable?".
