The Korean game development company, Netmarble, is set to release an exciting new addition to the world of The Seven Deadly Sins with its upcoming open-world action RPG, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin.
This dynamic game, powered by Unreal Engine 5, promises a high-fidelity recreation of the distinctive art style from the popular anime series. Players can explore the richly detailed open-world of Britannia with freedom, using each character's unique abilities for navigation.
The fast-paced combat system allows players to swap between four heroes during battles, each armed with one of three weapon types. The animations and abilities will change depending on the equipment, adding an extra layer of strategy to the gameplay.
Heroes can combine their skills to create powerful special effects, such as fiery tornadoes, adding a touch of the fantastical to the battles. For those who prefer a more laid-back approach, optional open-world activities like fishing, cooking, mining, and woodcutting are also available.
The game features an original multiverse story, set between the events of The Seven Deadly Sins anime and its successor, Four Knights of the Apocalypse. The protagonist, Tristan, even has the ability to move objects around in the open world.
Monsters in The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin exhibit dynamic behaviour, changing depending on the time of day and climate. For example, the Werebear, one of the game's monsters, carries torches and dozes off after sunset.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is set to launch globally later this year on PlayStation 5, PC via Steam, and mobile devices. Players can already add the game to their wish lists on the PlayStation Store and Steam. Pre-registration for the game is available now on the game's official website, with mobile pre-registration starting at a later date.
The Closed Beta Test sign-ups are currently live, giving players a chance to get a sneak peek at the game before its official release. With its engaging combat system, open-world exploration, and unique characters, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is shaping up to be an exciting addition to the series.
