Tractor Trek on the Swabian Alb Draws Thousands
A tractor event held on the Swabian Alb, in the district of Mehrstetten, near Reutlingen, attracted over 2,500 visitors on a Sunday. The event, organised by the Trecker Team Mehrstetten, was a hit, with around 180 tractors participating in the competition.
The event, known as the tractor trek, was open for sharing on various social media platforms and via email. Many visitors traveled from far and wide to attend, with some traveling as far as 100 kilometers.
The competition track was a 75-meter-long stretch where tractors pulled a trailer with the maximum possible weight. Tractors competed in ten different weight classes, ranging from 1.5 to 13.5 tons. All towing vehicles with official registration were allowed to participate.
The organisers, the Trecker Team Mehrstetten, were pleasantly surprised by the high attendance. Julian Maier, chairman of the Trecker Team Mehrstetten, mentioned that they didn't expect such a large crowd.
The event offered a program for both big and small tractor fans. In addition to the competition, there were opportunities for technical discussions and viewing on the harvested fields around Mehrstetten. Many vintage tractors were admired by the fans, and some visitors even brought their own tractors to the event.
Due to the high attendance, the organisers had to restock drinks, steaks, and rolls. Local suppliers were immediately available to meet the increased demand. Over 70 people were involved in the organisation of the event, including the fire department and the kindergarten's support association.
Unfortunately, the winners of the tractor sports event in Mehrstetten are not publicly specified in current available sources. However, the Trecker Team Mehrstetten expressed their pleasure with the high turnout over the weekend.
