Fashion label Off-White to collaborate with Brand Concepts for Indian debut
Luxury Italian brand Off-White is set to make its grand entrance into the Indian market in the first quarter of next year. The fashion retail company Brand Concepts, known for its focus on premium accessories, will be facilitating the launch.
The collaboration between Brand Concepts and global distributor of luxury brands, Sportlux General Trading, marks a significant step for Off-White's expansion. An initial investment of 5 million dollars over the next few years has been earmarked to establish Off-White's presence in India.
Off-White, founded by American fashion designer and entrepreneur Virgil Abloh in Milan in 2013, will be introduced through Brand Concepts' existing premium multi-brand store, Bagline. Beyond its own e-commerce platform and initial two standalone outlets, Off-White will be available at luxury multi-brand stores like The Collective and Iconic in India.
The product lineup for Off-White in India will include a full range of apparel, bags, wallets, and footwear. This expansion comes at a timely moment, given the growing streetwear culture and sneaker movement among India's young population.
Brand Concepts' foray into the luxury market with Off-White isn't its first foray into the fashion industry. Prior to this, the company's focus has primarily been on premium accessories, with brands like Tommy Hilfiger and Juicy Couture under its belt at Bagline.
The long-term plan for Off-White in India is to expand to five to six flagship stores and a wider "shop-in-shop" presence. The goal is to establish a total of 25-30 points of sale for Off-White across India.
While the name of the person responsible for coordinating the collaboration to introduce Off-White in India at Sportlux General Trading is not publicly available, the excitement for Off-White's debut in India is palpable. The brand's unique blend of streetwear and luxury is sure to resonate with India's fashion-forward youth.
Recently, Off-White was sold by LVMH to Bluestar Alliance in the country. This transition seems to have set the stage for Off-White's entry into the Indian market, promising a fresh and exciting chapter in the world of luxury fashion.
