American fast-food chain Raising Cane's is making a significant move into the European market, with plans to open a flagship location in London's iconic Piccadilly Circus area. This will mark the company's first foray into Europe.

The London flagship will be the first of many planned for the United Kingdom. Raising Cane's is also considering locations in The Strand, Oxford Circus, Paddington, South Bank, and drive-thru locations across the greater London area.

To support its expansion in the UK, Raising Cane's is creating seven operating divisions and hiring senior executive-level leaders across various functions and departments. One of the key hires is the president of Raising Cane's U.K., who will oversee the new London flagship and future expansion. Although the president has not yet been announced, the company is currently in the process of hiring someone to lead its UK operations.

Raising Cane's founder Todd Graves and co-CEO AJ Kumaran are involved in the expansion plans, but no named UK president was declared this week.

The London flagship is expected to create about 700 jobs within the first year, and the expanded support office in the Dallas-Area Restaurant Support Office in Plano, Texas, will quadruple the available space, allowing it to support thousands of crewmembers.

In 2024, Raising Cane's annual sales exceeded $5 billion, and the company ended the year with over 900 units. The company is aiming to reach 1,600 units by the end of the decade. Raising Cane's expects to pass the 1,000-unit count in 2025, and it plans to open 100 new units in 2025 alone.

The average unit volume for Raising Cane's in 2024 was $6.6 million, making it a profitable venture for the company. All of the U.K. units will be company-owned and operated.

Raising Cane's is known for its Louisiana-style chicken fingers, coleslaw, and Texas toast. The company's unique approach to fast food has made it a favourite among customers, and it is expected to be well-received in the UK.

In summary, Raising Cane's is making a significant move into the European market with its plans to open a flagship location in London.
