Investigation Details: Father shares concerns and descriptions of injuries - Father expresses concerns and details physical harm in block trial hearing
In a sensational trial in the Hamburg Regional Court, Stephan Hensel, a Danish businessman, is accusing his ex-wife, Christina Block, of ordering the abduction of their two shared children. The trial, which has captured public attention, began in earnest this week.
Hensel, who refers to his ex-wife as "Mrs. Block" in court, claims that the children were taken by employees of an Israeli security company and brought to Germany. This allegation came to light after unknown individuals appeared at Hensel's house in November 2022, while his Danish wife was taking the children to school. The police arrested these individuals and seized two dagger-like knives.
The indictment alleges that the abduction occurred on New Year's Eve 2023/24, a claim that Mrs. Block denies. However, courts have confirmed that Block had custody and that Hensel had to return the children. Despite this, Hensel did not return the children to their mother after a weekend visit in August 2021.
Hensel testified in court that the children experienced domestic violence with Mrs. Block. This claim was supported by photos of injuries shown in court, including those sustained by Hensel during the alleged attack. Danish experts have determined that the boy and girl are traumatized by these experiences.
Mrs. Block, a successful businesswoman, has consistently denied the allegations of violence and claimed that the father is manipulating the children. In a surprising turn of events, a protest took place outside Hensel's house in December 2022, reportedly organized by a psychologist hired by Christina Block. Media were not present at the protest, but a video was recorded and later posted online, showing the street name and license plates of nearby cars.
Hensel claims that his life was in danger after the children's abduction, citing intelligence from Danish authorities. He also claims that his house and family were observed by different security firms long before the abduction of the children. A neighbour called and warned them about the unknown individuals.
In an attempt to protect themselves, the family took several precautions, including moving multiple times, Hensel stopping reserving tables at restaurants, and being particularly cautious of men while jogging, especially during the darker months.
A criminal investigation was initiated in Denmark, but it was later discontinued. Mrs. Block was unable to enforce this claim in Denmark.
The trial is expected to continue as both parties present their evidence and testimonies. The well-being and future of the two children are at the heart of this complex and emotional case.
