Federal Law Enforcement Agents Find Success on Tuesday: Three Arrests Conducted at Düsseldorf Airport (NP: BPOL NRW)

In a series of arrests at Düsseldorf Airport on Tuesday, the 2nd of September, 2025, the Federal Police apprehended three individuals wanted by various public prosecutor's offices across Germany.

The first arrest was made on an incoming flight from Beirut, Lebanon. A 27-year-old Syrian, who previously resided in Lower Saxony, was wanted by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Braunschweig due to two cases of fraud for which he had been convicted in December 2024. He was sentenced to pay a fine of 330 euros and face an eleven-day suspended sentence. However, he was able to pay the fine on the spot to avoid imprisonment and continue his journey.

The Syrian was also wanted by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Bielefeld due to legal searches linked to fraud cases.

Meanwhile, a 43-year-old German man was checked on an incoming flight from Pristina/Kosovo. The man, who lives in the district of Osnabrück, was able to pay a fine of 50 euros on the spot and avoid arrest.

A 35-year-old German woman was checked on an incoming flight from Djerba/Tunisia. The woman, who lives in Lübeck, has been the subject of legal proceedings. In May 2023, she was convicted for forgery of evidence. In August 2025, the Local Court of Lübeck issued an arrest warrant against her for suspected theft. In January 2024, the Public Prosecutor's Office in Lübeck issued an enforcement order for asset seizure of approximately 800 euros against her. Despite being properly summoned for the main hearing, she did not appear, leading to the issuance of a warrant.

The Federal Police at Düsseldorf Airport arrested a total of three wanted travelers during border police entry controls on Tuesday. This highlights the ongoing efforts by the German authorities to apprehend individuals wanted for various offenses, ensuring justice is served and public safety is maintained.
