Four Wanted Individuals Arrested at Düsseldorf Airport

In a series of arrests at Düsseldorf Airport on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, the Federal Police apprehended four wanted travelers. The arrests were part of border police immigration and emigration controls of various flights.

The first arrest occurred during a random immigration check of a flight from Palma de Mallorca, Spain. A 39-year-old Spaniard, wanted by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Düsseldorf for fraud since August 2025, was arrested during emigration control for a flight to Istanbul, Turkey.

Simultaneously, two Georgian individuals, a 47-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man, were arrested during immigration controls at the airport. The Public Prosecutor's Office in Görlitz had issued arrest warrants for both Georgian nationals in 2025, following their convictions in May 2023 for obtaining residence titles by deception.

The 47-year-old Georgian woman was able to pay a fine of 1,500 euros and thus avoided a substitute custodial sentence of 50 days. The 48-year-old Georgian man, also arriving from Istanbul, Turkey, was controlled. He too had an arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Görlitz for obtaining residence titles by deception in April 2025.

On the same day, a 26-year-old Polish man wanted by the Regional Court of Bamberg for illegal import of narcotics was arrested by the Federal Police. The arrest warrant for the Polish man was opened by the Federal Police, and he was handed over to the judicial authorities after the arrest. The 26-year-old was sentenced to a youth detention sentence of four years and eight months in June 2021 and had a remaining sentence of 62 days.

The Spaniard living in Düsseldorf was able to pay a fine of 1,800 euros and thus avoided a substitute custodial sentence of 18 days. The 47-year-old Georgian woman, arriving from Istanbul, Turkey, had an arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Görlitz for obtaining residence titles by deception in February 2025.

The Federal Police Directorate Sankt Augustin and the Federal Police Inspectorate Airport Düsseldorf were involved in the arrests.
