Federal Law Enforcement in North Rhine-Westphalia uncover extensive counterfeiting operation - Iraqi woman carrying false identification apprehended at Cologne/Bonn airport
On the 1st of September, a 34-year-old Iraqi national was inspected by federal police at Cologne/Bonn Airport. The individual, who had entered from Malta, was taken to the station for further investigation.
During the interrogation, an Arabic-speaking interpreter was used to facilitate communication. The officers secured a fake ID card and her mobile phone during the process. The woman expressed a request for protection during the interrogation.
The federal police have since determined that the Swedish ID card presented by the individual was a forgery, as confirmed by their specialists. Consequently, the individual is now suspected of illegal residence, document forgery, and obtaining false official identification.
The federal police have initiated a criminal investigation, which is being led by the police department in Bonn. After completing all police procedures, the woman was released with a referral notice for the initial reception center in Bochum.
