The Federal Police Inspectorate Hannover has announced a series of measures to ensure a safe and smooth journey for train users during the upcoming football match between Hannover 96 and 1. FC Magdeburg on August 23, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the Heinz von Heiden Arena.

Numerous fans are expected to attend the highly-anticipated game, with many opting for train travel as their mode of transportation. To facilitate this, the Federal Police Inspectorate Hannover will be reinforced to maintain safety and order on train facilities and trains.

For fans travelling from Magdeburg, the Federal Police recommends switching to the S-Bahn at Hannover Central Station on Line S1, S2, or S5, departing from track 1 to the station Hannover Linden/Fischerhof. From there, the stadium is within a short walking distance. The same route applies for the return journey.

Additionally, for Hannover 96 supporters, it is recommended to switch to the city trains of ÜSTRA in the central station, lines 3, 7 (direction Wettbergen), and 9 (direction Empelde) running in the basement to the stop Waterloo. From there, it's a short walk to the stadium.

The Federal Police also advises using the travel route Magdeburg - Braunschweig - Hannover for public train transport. Other recommended routes include Stendal - Wolfsburg - Hannover and Halberstadt - Goslar - Hannover.

Up to 1,500 visiting fans from Magdeburg are expected to travel by train to the state capital of Lower Saxony. The visiting fans from Magdeburg are generally expected to enter the Heinz von Heiden Arena via the southern area.
