Festival Kickoff Abroad: Variety Shown by Bremen's Music Scene on the First Day
On a sunny August day in 2025, the Overseas Festival graced the city of Bremen with its vibrant presence. The festival, held as a free outdoor event, attracted a diverse audience and showcased a wide range of musical genres.
The indoor area of the festival was a hub of activity, with performances of folk and cabaret music echoing through the halls. Meanwhile, the outdoor stages buzzed with the energy of electronic world music, indie-punk, indie rock-pop, and EDM-dance electro.
The Secretariat stage was a hotspot, with Caro, Mr. Frey, Nils Wittrock, Kristina Quater, and Super Oud Feat. Ethinque Punch taking turns to entertain the crowd. The Rampensau stage was equally lively, featuring acts like Captain Pfiff and The First Mates, Friends28, Blizz, and My Amp Just Broke. The Hansator stage, too, was a melting pot of sounds, with Lucky Mirlo, Feathers And Greed, and Ultra Power Nap performing throughout the day.
The first day of the festival saw Lucky Mirlo performing Caribbean rock-soul-pop on the Hansator stage, followed by Feathers And Greed's art-psych-prock set. The music performed had a softer tone, imbued with emotional depth that resonated with the audience.
The Bremen music scene received significant support from the cultural authority this year, and the Overseas Festival served as a testament to this. It was a major event for the city, bringing together both local and international talent.
Among the festival-goers, there was a palpable sense of camaraderie and good vibes. The audience, diverse in age and background, seemed to find common ground in their shared love for music.
As the festival continues on subsequent days, the city of Bremen can look forward to more music, more memories, and more moments of unity. The Overseas Festival is indeed a celebration not to be missed.
