The 69th National Film Awards were unveiled at the National Media Center in New Delhi, honouring creativity, dedication, and profound storytelling in Indian cinema. The film's makeup artist, Pratisheel Singh, was honoured with the National Award in this category.

One of the standout performances in "Gangubai Kathiawadi" was delivered by Alia Bhatt, who was awarded the 'Best Actress' National Award for her role. Another winner in the acting category was the charismatic Allu Arjun, who took home the 'Best Actor' award for his performance in "Pushpa - The Rise," directed by Sukumar.

"Mimi," directed by Laxman Utekar, was another heartfelt film that garnered attention. Kriti Sanon played a surrogate mother for a foreign couple in this moving story, earning her the 'Best Actress' National Award for her performance. Pankaj Tripathi also shone in "Mimi," winning the National Award for 'Best Supporting Actor' for his role.

The 69th National Film Awards for the year 2023 were conferred by President Droupadi Murmu on the 17th of October. In addition to the acting awards, the National Film Award for Best Direction was given to Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert for "Everything Everywhere All at Once." Pallavi Joshi was also recognised for her role in "The Kashmir Files," winning the National Award for 'Best Supporting Actress.'

Legendary actress Waheeda Rehman was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, one of the highest honours in the realm of filmmaking. The National Film Awards honour films that showcase aesthetic and technical brilliance and resonate with social relevance.
