KSC II Secures Dramatic 2:2 Draw Against FSV Bietigheim-Bissingen

In a thrilling encounter at home, Karlsruher SC II managed to come from behind twice to avoid a third consecutive defeat. The match ended in a 2:2 draw, with both teams showcasing impressive determination and skill.

The visitors took the lead early in the game, as FSV captain Alexander Götz scored the opening goal in the 14th minute. However, KSC II responded swiftly, equalizing just ten minutes later through Nico Engel, assisted by Luis Dettling.

FSV Bietigheim-Bissingen regained their advantage before half-time, as Bleart Dautaj converted a penalty to make it 2:1. The second half saw a series of exciting moments, with both teams creating numerous opportunities to secure all three points.

KSC II's coach, Dietmar Blicker, made a controversial decision to bench U19 players Niklas Behr and others, as professionals Ali Ersungur, Mateo Kritzer, Meiko Wäschenbach, and Robert Geller had a three-day vacation. Despite this, the young players on the bench, including Tim Boldt and Simon Guggenbühler, were ready to contribute when called upon.

One such moment came in the 78th minute, as Marius Mahle provided the assist for Frederik Recktenwald to score the equalizing goal, making the score 2:2. Aki Koch, the KSC II goalkeeper, also played a crucial role in the second half, making two crucial saves in the 54th minute to prevent a defeat.

As the match drew to a close, KSC II continued to press forward, creating two corners in added time. Arbai headed a corner from Fynn Geigle from the left onto the second post and out in the 84th minute, while Recktenwald shot wide from a sharp angle on the right in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, Niklas Behr had to be substituted again in added time due to a suspected ankle injury.

Despite FSV captain Alexander Götz being fortunate to avoid a second yellow card at least once before his substitution, both teams showed sportsmanship and respect throughout the game. The absence of Devin Sür due to injury was also felt on both sides, as his presence could have added an extra dimension to the attack.

In the end, the match ended in a thrilling 2:2 draw, with both teams taking a point each. KSC II can be proud of their resilience and determination, coming from behind twice to secure a valuable point at home. The team will look to build on this performance in their next match, as they aim to climb up the table.
