Fire at Senior Living Home in Mainz, Germany, Quickly Extinguished
On a chilly December morning in 2024, a fire incident occurred at a senior living home in the Finthen district of Mainz, Germany. The incident took place on the 19th of the month, at around 4:20 am, when an automatic fire alarm was triggered.
Upon arrival, the fire department immediately detected a strong smell of smoke. Significant smoke spread occurred, requiring approximately two hours for ventilation.
The building's preventive fire protection measures allowed the nursing home to continue operating, except for the affected residential area. The operation was completed for all personnel after approximately three hours. By shortly before 7 am, the scene was handed over to the home management.
