Fire department effectively contained fire from escalating in FW Hannover

A residential fire broke out in the Linden-Mitte district of Hannover this morning, according to information provided by the Fire Department Hannover.

At around 10:40 AM, passersby reported smoke coming from two windows of a five-story residential building located on Stephanusstraße. The fire was in a fourth-floor apartment, which also houses the Theater am Küchengarten.

The quick response of the fire department prevented the fire from spreading. A total of 14 vehicles from the fire department and emergency services were involved, with 40 personnel working to extinguish the fire. Three breathing apparatus teams and a fire hose were used in the operation.

High-pressure fans were employed to remove smoke and heat from the building. Extensive follow-up operations were conducted after the fire was brought under control, and all adjacent apartments were checked for fire and smoke.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire. The regional control center dispatched a fire engine from the professional fire brigade and the emergency services to the scene, with another fire engine sent after the incident commander escalated the alarm level.

However, the fire department cannot provide information on the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage. The scene was handed over to the police for further investigation.
