Fire at Greifswald Supermarket: Police Investigate Suspected Arson
A fire that broke out on the parking lot of a supermarket in Greifswald, Germany, on August 11th to 12th, 2025, is now under investigation by the local police on suspicion of arson.
The fire was reported to the police at around 03:20, and the police and the fire department were quickly called to the scene on Ernst-Thälmann-Ring. The fire was contained by the fire department, but it is estimated that the property damage from the fire is around 5,000 euros.
Two suspects, aged 18 and 33, were identified at the scene of the fire. A breath alcohol test for the 18-year-old suspect showed a result of 1.09 per mille, while the 33-year-old suspect registered a result of 1.70 per mille.
