Fire in Eastfields' Kitchen Leaves 18-year-old Hurt
In the small town of Ostfildern, Esslingen district, an unfortunate incident has left a building uninhabitable and an 18-year-old under investigation.

The 18-year-old suffered from smoke inhalation while trying to extinguish the fire and was taken to a clinic for treatment. The Red Cross is providing support to the young individual and their family during this challenging time.
The police are currently investigating the case on suspicion of negligent arson. In a separate incident, a 45-year-old male resident of a building in Altenstadt is also being investigated by the police on suspicion of arson. He was detained on site and later admitted to a psychiatric hospital following a court order on September 13, 2025.
The fire department is still investigating the cause of the fire beyond negligent arson. They are also considering whether any safety regulations were violated during the cooking incident.
The building remains uninhabitable due to the fire and smoke damage. Local authorities are working to provide temporary housing solutions for those affected by the fire.
