Fire leaves two residents deceased; initial investigation findings unveiled.

A residential fire that broke out on Bothenstraße in Recklinghausen around 2:45 AM on Thursday night has left two residents deceased and ten others injured. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown.

The Police Headquarters Recklinghausen has initiated investigations at the scene, with further examination of the apartment to be conducted in collaboration with an expert in the coming days. The fire started in an apartment on the first floor and spread rapidly, causing extensive damage.

Two residents were found deceased in the apartment during the fire. An autopsy was conducted on the two deceased, but a definitive identification is not yet possible due to the severe damage caused by the fire. A DNA match is still pending.

Ten residents were injured in the fire and were transported to hospitals. Two of the injured residents had severe injuries. The ages of the injured range from 7 to 47 years old. One firefighter was also injured during the rescue efforts.
