Fire truck summoned due to blaze on building rooftop; firefighter succumbs to injuries sustained during extinguishing efforts
Fire in Bad Pyrmont: Workshop Inflames, Residential Building Uninhabitable
A fire broke out in the street "Eichenbrink" in Bad Pyrmont on August 29, 2025. The incident involved a workshop adjacent to a residential building.
The fire department mobilized over 120 emergency personnel from the fire departments of Hagen, Bad Pyrmont, Holzhausen, Löwensen, Thal, and Kleinenberg to tackle the blaze. Fortunately, the fire was contained before it could spread to the living area.
Initial findings suggest a technical malfunction as the cause of the fire. However, the Bad Pyrmont police have initiated an investigation to confirm the exact cause.
Unfortunately, a firefighter from the Kleinenberg local fire brigade fell into a coma shortly after the incident at the fire station and later passed away in the hospital. The firefighter's name is not available in the search results. At this time, there is no indication that the firefighter's death is related to the fire operation.
Two witnesses independently alerted emergency services about the fire at approximately 15:40. A neighbor bravely rescued a dog from the burning structure before emergency services arrived.
The estimated damage from the fire is a mid-five-figure amount. The scene of the fire has been secured by the authorities.
