Fire at Drosselberg in Erfurt: Unknown Individual Under Suspicion for Arson

Two separate fires have recently broken out in Erfurt, the latest occurring at Drosselberg where an unknown individual set fire to a clothing donation container.

The incident, which took place on Wednesday evening, saw the clothing donation container engulfed in flames, necessitating the intervention of the fire department to extinguish the blaze. The extent of the damage is still under investigation, with suspected arson being the primary focus.

Earlier in the week, on Monday evening, another fire was reported on Carl-Zeiss-Straße, where an unknown individual set fire to a trash can. The fire department was able to promptly extinguish the flames, preventing further damage.

At the time of writing, the arsonist who set fire to the clothing drop-off point in Drosselberg has not been publicly identified. The damage caused by the fire is estimated to be around 400 euros.
