Befit Expands Its Footprint with Acquisition of Four Barzz Clubs in Romania

Befit, the affordable, tech-driven fitness brand owned by Vectr Holdings, has announced the acquisition of four Barzz clubs in Romania. The gyms, located in Sibiu and Deva, will undergo renovation starting in September and October, with the aim of meeting Befit's brand standards.

The takeover marks the latest step in Befit's expansion strategy. Milan Mirkovic, General Manager of Befit, stated that the Barzz clubs perfectly match their expansion strategy.

The newly acquired gyms will offer a high-tech training environment, incorporating advanced automation based on the KNX global standard. Befit's automation system will control lighting, climate, water, humidity, ventilation, music, and energy consumption, providing members with a modernized facility.

As part of the transition, members will gain access to Befit's digital ecosystem. This move is expected to enhance the overall gym experience, offering members a seamless integration of technology and fitness.

The renovation works will mainly take place at night to avoid disruptions for members. Some of Befit's locations will be partially powered by photovoltaic panels, further emphasising the brand's commitment to sustainability.

Befit conducted a one-month free trial in two pilot gyms earlier this year, offering it to 1,000 people. More than 70% of participants expressed interest in continuing with paid memberships, indicating a positive response to the brand's offerings. Memberships at the newly acquired gyms will start at RON 150 per month.

Vectr Holdings, Befit's parent company, also owns World Class Romania, the country's leading fitness chain, as well as businesses in agribusiness, real estate, and equipment distribution. Ciprian Stancu, the owner of the parent company, is the driving force behind Befit's growth.

Befit is targeting young urban communities in residential neighbourhoods in Romania. The brand is positioned as an affordable, tech-driven fitness chain, making fitness accessible to a wider audience.

With this acquisition, Befit plans to reach 20 clubs by the end of 2025. The company is excited about the opportunity to bring its unique blend of technology and fitness to more communities in Romania.
