Five individuals, heavily intoxicated, apprehended by police for driving under the influence

In the heart of Hesse, a road safety control was carried out at Europaplatz, Heppenheim, on Monday, 08.09., by 15 officers from the Bergstraße Police Directorate and colleagues from the Hessian State Police Headquarters.

The Hessian State Police Headquarters, located at Klappacher Straße 14, 64285 Darmstadt, is the primary government institution responsible for law enforcement in the state of Hesse. Ensuring road safety is one of the main tasks of the police in Hesse. During the control, a total of 148 individuals were checked, and 111 vehicles were stopped. Three drivers tested positive for amphetamine or cannabis use before driving, while two admitted to consuming cannabis.

Suspicions of drug influence led to blood samples being taken from five drivers. Unfortunately, four drivers were also reported for driving without a license.

The control followed a morning theoretical training session, and the practical control was conducted under the leadership of experienced and specialized colleagues from the Hessian State Police Headquarters. The event that is related to this control occurred on September 9.
