Austrian Court Rules in Favour of Hotel Fraud Case Against Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht
Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht, a prominent figure in the German entertainment industry, found himself in legal trouble in Austria after a fraud trial related to an unpaid hotel bill spanning several years. The trial took place on Friday, 22 August 2025, and the Regional Court of Innsbruck ruled that Ochsenknecht must pay a fine of 18,000 euros.
The incident occurred at the end of 2021 at a four-star hotel located in Kirchberg near the Bavarian border. The hotel bill in question was nearly 14,000 euros, consisting of accommodation, restaurant visits, and transport services. According to reports, Ochsenknecht allegedly celebrated his birthday at the hotel, with the payment for the bill being financed by his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his daughter.
Ochsenknecht's arrest took place at Hamburg Airport at the end of June 2022, and he was extradited to Austria at the beginning of July 2022. During the trial, the media interest was high, with numerous fans and journalists present. Ochsenknecht did not explicitly plead guilty, but acknowledged not paying the hotel bill. He apologized to the manager of the affected Tyrolean hotel and to the public in the courtroom.
Despite the verdict, the case resolution allowed Ochsenknecht to avoid a conviction and a criminal record in Austria. This form of case resolution is available to the defendant, enabling them to settle the matter without a formal conviction. The payment of the hotel bill was made shortly after Ochsenknecht's arrest.
As of now, Ochsenknecht is currently appearing in the new season of "Are You The One – Reality Stars in Love". There are rumours that he might enter the "Dschungelcamp" in January 2026, which could potentially help improve his image and provide financial benefits. However, his legal troubles related to the long unpaid hotel bill are now behind him.
