Forecasted Weather Conditions over Bergheim on Wednesday Impact 15 Operations Within the Boundaries of Lower and Upper Outer Regions
The town of Bergheim has been in the thick of it since this afternoon, as a brief, intense storm swept through the area. The fire department has been actively dealing with the aftermath, particularly in the neighbourhoods of Niederaußem and Oberaußem.
According to the Fire Department Bergheim, who transmitted the original content via news aktuell, large branches were found blocking roads in several locations. In the area of Zum Fortunabad, the fire department secured the scene and removed the loose branches using a turntable ladder from Niederaußem.
Elsewhere in Niederaußem, loose roof tiles were reported at a house on the Alte Landstraße. Firefighters from the Glessen and Quadrath-Ichendorf units, the turntable ladder crew from the full-time station, and two ambulances were requested by the Kerpen fire department's incident commander to assist with the cleanup.
In Brieystraße, Niederaußem, several trees fell onto the road, and a street lamp was knocked over. The road was temporarily closed for cleanup operations. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported despite large branches falling onto parked vehicles at two incident sites in Bergheim.
The municipal coordination center at the fire and rescue station in Bergheim is coordinating and directing the storm-related incidents. As of 2:30 PM, a total of 15 weather-related incidents have been recorded.

Earlier this morning, Bergheim personnel were deployed to support the Kerpen fire department at an extensive building fire. Approximately 40 personnel from the Büsdorf, Oberaussem, Niederaußem units, and the full-time station are involved in the storm response.
As the cleanup efforts continue, the community of Bergheim remains vigilant, working together to ensure safety and restore normalcy in the affected areas.
