Forecasts for Tuesday, August 26, 2025 in Deauville - daily weather updates and racecard for the Handicap de la Manche event

In the upcoming Handicap de la Manche at Deauville Hippodrome, the spotlight is on four-year-old colt Annabel's Ghost, trained by A. Fabre. This highly anticipated event, scheduled for August 26, 2025, will feature a field of sixteen well-aged horses, competing over a 3200-meter distance.

Annabel's Ghost has shown exceptional potential for this endurance test, having recently defended itself remarkably at Dieppe and making an interesting comeback. The 3200-meter distance is ideal for Annabel's Ghost, a marathon distance reserved for true stayers. Cristian Demuro, a seasoned jockey, will partner with Annabel's Ghost in this race, adding to the horse's strong chances.

Deauville's grass track and its mythical right-handed course favour endurance specialists, and Annabel's Ghost fits the bill perfectly. With its excellent stamina, the filly is expected to perform well on this marathon distance.

Among the contenders, Ventosilla, a five-year-old filly of Christophe Lotoux, is making her first appearance on the Normandy turf. Ventosilla finished fifth in a Quinté+ over 2500 meters and will be favoured by the longer distance in this race.

Another notable entry is Lorenzo De Medici, a six-year-old gelding of Adrien Fouassier, with 127,437 euros in earnings. Lorenzo De Medici is the coup de poker for this Handicap Divided, with serious ambitions for its targeted engagement.

The race has an allocation of 50,900 euros in Divided Handicap Class 2. The summer conditions, with 21°C, overcast skies, and a strong west wind at 19 km/h, will play a significant role in this wide-open event.

Other horses to watch include Sapristi, a five-year-old colt of Nicolas Caullery, who has been irreproachable since the beginning of the year with 101,176 euros in earnings. Rimbault, a six-year-old colt of Richard Chotard, made an excellent race in the Quinté+ of Vichy, and Super Alex, a ten-year-old gelding of Arthur Pean, is very consistent in this category.

The 2 out of 4 bet includes Ventosilla (7) and Sapristi (11), offering attractive odds for a top-four finish. Woot City, the laureate of this same race last year, will also be a formidable competitor, having earned 232,771 euros.

Incremental, a five-year-old gelding of Nicolas Caullery, pleasantly imposed itself on the PSF at Deauville with 35,902 euros in earnings. Cuncerto, a six-year-old gelding of Miroslav Rulec, is still in good form, while Black Saxon, a four-year-old gelding of Nicolas Bellanger, needs to carry 61 kilos over this marathon distance.

Barbadin (GB), an eight-year-old gelding of Pauline Prod'homme, enters the race with 190,196 euros in earnings. Pedro Cabral, a horse without provided details, completes the field of sixteen horses.

With a perfect combination of class, adaptation to this distance, and partnership with Cristian Demuro, Annabel's Ghost is the absolute base and sure bet for the Quinté+. This promising filly is set to make a strong impression in the upcoming Handicap de la Manche at Deauville.
