Formula One driver Charles Leclerc fails to secure a podium finish at Monza.

Ferrari and McLaren, two of Formula One's most iconic teams, have shared mixed feelings following the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

Ferrari Team Principal, Vasseur, expressed disappointment and a sense of what could have been after Leclerc's fourth-place finish. Vasseur stated that Leclerc's race could have been different without some early battles against Piastri. He also mentioned the need to think about what could have been done differently in the first lap.

However, Vasseur's sense of shame or disappointment about the race outcome was not evident in these statements. Ferrari's overestimation of their tire performance, which allowed Russell to follow and other drivers to pull away, seemed to be a significant factor in their inability to secure a podium finish.

On the other hand, McLaren Team Principal, Andrea Stella, is reflecting on Verstappen's win at Monza. Stella did not mention any specific issues with Leclerc or Hamilton in this paragraph but identified a lesson to be learned from the race outcome. The lesson suggests a need to address team strategy and orders, as Verstappen openly disregarded McLaren's team order, indicating McLaren may need to learn how to manage such situations better to improve performance and internal discipline.

Meanwhile, Aston Martin is still seeking answers regarding their performance in the Monza race. Notably, Fernando Alonso retired from the race, leaving questions about the team's current form.

Despite the setbacks, Ferrari and McLaren will undoubtedly look to learn from these experiences and strive for better results in the upcoming races. If Ferrari had delivered a podium, it would have been magical for the Tifosi, given the location of the pit lane and start and finish straight at the podium. However, both teams will now focus on the future and the opportunities that lie ahead.
