Forward-Thinking Hamburg Awards 2023: Seeking Innovative and Progressive Startups
The vibrant startup ecosystem in Hamburg, Germany, is gearing up for the third edition of the Future Hamburg Award. This prestigious award, presented by Hamburg's innovation hub, is designed to recognise and support international and national startups that have been operational for at least two years but no more than four.
The award is a collaborative initiative by the Bureau of Economy and Innovation, Hamburg Innovation, Hamburg Invest, Hamburg Marketing, and the Institute for Innovation and Technology (IIT). The Startup City Hamburg platform, a digital single point of contact for the Hamburg startup ecosystem, serves as the central hub for information and applications.
The Startup City Hamburg platform aims to make the location more visible nationally and internationally for young companies. It provides an overview of startups based in Hamburg, funding offers, and networking opportunities. Hamburg Invest, a one-stop agency for settlements and investments in Hamburg, serves as the central partner of the local economy for all topics of economic promotion. They offer diverse service offerings, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises.
This year, Plug and Play Tech Center, a network of around 60,000 startups and 500 companies at more than 50 locations worldwide, is the main partner for the Future Hamburg Award 2023. The prize includes a one-month stay in Silicon Valley for the first prize winner, mentoring for the second prize winner, and a Corporate Readness Workshop for the third prize winner.
The expert jury of the Future Hamburg Awards bases its decision on the evaluation of submitted works according to criteria defined by the ADC manifesto as measures of excellent creative communication. The jury includes Dr. Ralf Belusa, Petra Vorsteher, Georg Zembacher, and Veronika Reichboth, among others.
The application deadline for the Future Hamburg Award is July 9, 2023. The winners of the award will be announced on October 5, 2023, at the Plug and Play Expo, which will take place at the international Plug and Play Expo in the Hamburg Factory Hammerbrooklyn.
