Break-in at Top One Luxury Shop in Hong Kong During Storm

The Hong Kong Police Force made a new announcement on Monday regarding a burglary that occurred at the Top One Luxury shop in the Ho King Commercial Centre on Fa Yuen Street in Mong Kok.

During the early hours of a stormy night, four masked men broke into the shop by smashing its glass door. The incident, which occurred at about 3.30am, took place during Severe Tropical Storm Tapah's approach to the city.

The shop, known for selling Chanel and Van Cleef & Arpels jewellery, was left counting its losses following the break-in. The stolen goods include a variety of second-hand luxury items, with the police estimating the total value of the stolen jewellery to be around HK$300,000.

Surveillance camera footage is being examined by the police in relation to the burglary, and no arrests have been made so far. One of the suspects cut his hand on the glass door during the break-in, but the search results do not provide the names of the four men involved in the robbery.

When a No. 8 typhoon signal is in force, most of the city grinds to a halt, with public transport and other services suspended. It is unclear whether the stormy conditions affected the police's response to the burglary.

The shop's alarm system was triggered during the break-in, but it is unknown whether this alerted any neighbours or passersby. The police are searching for the four men who committed the robbery and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

The Top One Luxury shop is a popular destination for those seeking high-end second-hand goods, and the burglary is a significant loss for the business. The shop's owners are working to assess the full extent of the damage and are cooperating with the police in their investigation.
