In the Upper Palatinate district of Cham, a severe head-on collision between two cars has left four individuals seriously injured. The incident occurred near Chamerau on a wet road, where the driver of a high-performance car lost control while attempting to overtake another vehicle.

According to the police report, the driver was travelling at a high speed at the time of the accident. The initial collision involved the high-performance car hitting a guardrail before entering the oncoming lane and colliding with an oncoming car.

The driver of the oncoming car, a 53-year-old individual, had to be rescued by firefighters due to being trapped in the vehicle. The 53-year-old, along with the driver of the high-performance car, a 23-year-old individual, and his 22-year-old passenger, as well as another 20-year-old passenger, were all seriously injured in the accident.

As a result of the collision, the four injured individuals were airlifted to the hospital for immediate medical attention.
