Four-legged Fire Station Visit by Children's Department Guests

The Junior Firefighters of Bruchhausen-Niedereimer had a unique and memorable experience in mid-June, as they switched their usual hoses and helmets for leashes and paws. The special mission, organised by the Fire Department of the City of Arnsberg, featured an educational afternoon with the dog school "doolittle-dogs" by Claudia Heppelmann.

Claudia Heppelmann and her team presented four well-trained dogs, who demonstrated various sports skills, including slalom, jumps, and small tricks. The event, not just memorable due to the dogs but also due to its educational value, saw the children learning how to properly greet a dog, offer a treat safely, and behave when a strange dog approaches.

The children were allowed to participate in the obstacle course with the dogs and their handlers. The dog trainers explained the lessons patiently and playfully, ensuring that everyone had a great time while learning. Some initially hesitant children made their first positive experiences with dogs during the event, making it a truly special day for all involved.

The afternoon was a great joy for everyone, with the children leaving with a newfound respect and understanding for dogs. The event was transmitted via news aktuell, reaching a wider audience and spreading the message of the importance of safe and respectful interactions with dogs.

For further questions regarding the event, please contact the Fire Department of the City of Arnsberg at Alter Graben 155, 9755 Arnsberg, E-Mail: [email protected], www.feuerwehr-arnsberg.de. The visit is expected to be remembered for a long time, not just for the exciting obstacle course, but for the valuable lessons learned.

The Junior Firefighters of Bruchhausen-Niedereimer would like to express their gratitude to Claudia Heppelmann and her team for the successful and educational afternoon. The event was a testament to the power of education and the joy that can be found in learning new skills and making new friends, whether they have fur or not.
