On September 24, 2025, at 4 PM, the Dorte-Hilleke Library in Menden will be transformed into a whimsical world of clowns and fairy tales as the theatre group "Kreuz & Quer" presents their latest production, "Dornröschen, let down your hair".
This children's theater event, suitable for little ones aged 4 and above, is a unique twist on the classic Grimm fairy tale "DORNROŞCHEN". The play features a mix-up of the traditional storyline, with two clowns, Kreuz & Quer, using gardening tools to tell the story in a humorous and engaging way.
The play takes place in a garden setting, complete with a hedge trimmer prop, and follows the adventures of a princess who falls into a deep sleep. The prince, too, finds himself in a slumber, dozing off in the spring sunshine. The climax of the play sees an unexpected resolution, with the princess kissing her prince and receiving half the kingdom and the whole princess.
