Fresh financial support available for endeavors in Coerde

The City of Münster has launched the Coerdefonds, a fund aimed at supporting initiatives that strengthen the further development of the Coerde district and sustainably improve the quality of life for residents. This fund is part of the Integrated Urban Development Concept (InSEK) measures in Coerde, which have been supported by funds from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) and the federal government since 2022.

One of the ongoing results of the InSEK measures in Coerde is the construction of a community center and a skate and pump track facility. The skate and pump track facility was completed in 2024, while the community center construction is still ongoing. The redesign of Hamannplatz, a prominent location in the district, is also part of the future plans for the InSEK measures in Coerde.

The Coerdefonds is managed by the City of Münster, with the City Planning Office (Stadtplanungsamt) and Münster Marketing providing coordinating leadership. Application handling is done through [email protected], and a committee (Beirat) decides on the funding of projects.

Individuals, associations, or institutions who have their own ideas for Coerde can submit applications for the Coerdefonds. The fund aims to support projects that have not yet begun, do not include regular personnel, material, or operating costs, and are not already covered by other funding. Up to 1,000 euros can be applied for per project.

Applications can be submitted in writing or by email to Coerdefonds@stadt-unser website. Detailed information and an explanatory video are available on the website. Nora Harenbrock and Viola Keller from the city planning department and Münster Marketing are also available to assist with filling out the application.

The federal and state governments cover 60% of the costs, with the city of Münster covering the remaining 40%. A total of 20,000 euros is available for the Coerdefonds until the end of 2026.

The Coerdefonds is an excellent opportunity for citizens to contribute to the development of their district and make a positive impact on the quality of life for all residents.
