MAUI Imaging Secures $14 Million in Series D Funding

MAUI Imaging, a leading provider of computed echo tomography (CET)-based imaging technology, has secured $14 million in Series D funding, with the round being led by Acertara Acoustic Laboratories.

The funding will be utilised to support the production, marketing, and sales of MAUI Imaging's CET-based imaging technology. This includes the MAUI K3900 ultrasound imaging system, which was cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in October 2023.

However, it's important to note that the funding is separate from the contract MAUI Imaging secured with the U.S. Department of Defense last August. This contract, worth $4 million, is aimed at supporting trauma medicine across four branches of the military. The goal is to enable faster diagnosis and interventional care in high volume or mass casualty events and resource-limited environments.

Despite the contract, no information has been provided about the use of funds for research and development, the number of shares sold, or the valuation of the company for either the Series D funding or the contract with the U.S. Department of Defense.

The founder and CEO of MAUI Imaging is David Specht. The company was founded by the father-son duo Don Specht and David Specht, with David Specht currently serving as CEO.

The funds from the Series D funding will also support MAUI Imaging's production efforts, but no specific details about how they will be allocated have been disclosed.

In conclusion, MAUI Imaging's Series D funding and the contract with the U.S. Department of Defense mark significant milestones for the company. They will help advance the company's mission to provide innovative imaging solutions for various applications, including military trauma care.
