Funding of $250,000 granted for a youth mental health facility in Newark
Gov. Kathy Hochul has launched a statewide initiative to improve youth mental health support, and the Alex Eligh Community Center in Newark is set to be a part of this exciting development. The center will receive $250,000 annually for five years, courtesy of a $7.5 million statewide initiative.
Delphi Rise, an organisation involved in creating safe, peer-led environments for youth mental health, has been awarded this funding to operate the Alex Eligh Community Center and partner in running the youth mental health support program there. This initiative is called "Youth Safe Spaces".
The "Youth Safe Spaces" program aims to address mental health challenges and provide resources for teens and young adults in a safe, inclusive environment. The FingerLakes1.com App, available for iOS devices (iPhone and iPad), is a testament to the region's commitment to digital news and community engagement.
FingerLakes1.com, the region's leading all-digital news publication, has been keeping residents informed for more than two decades. The organisation invites readers to send leads to news@our website and offers a Morning Edition subscription for daily news headlines via email.
The FingerLakes1.com App, named FL1 on the Go!, is free to download, offering users a convenient way to stay updated on local news and events. As the initiative unfolds, it is expected to create "Youth Safe Spaces" across New York, marking a significant step towards supporting the mental health of the state's youth population.
