Fundraising event for the Save a Life project taking place in Calahonda
In the heart of Calahonda, the S.A.L. (Save a Life) project is set to host a fundraiser event at Pals Bar in El Zoco shopping centre on Wednesday, September 24, at 7.30pm. The event, aimed at expressing gratitude for those who saved cardiac arrest survivor Gerry Hannam's life, will feature singer Ben James and Harvey James as hosts.
Gerry Hannam and his wife Jenny want to thank the heroes who saved his life - a passerby with CPR knowledge, a member of staff from the National Theatre, and the quick-thinking individual who used a defibrillator. The fundraiser event aims to buy 3 new defibrillators for the neighbourhood, with all money raised going towards their purchase.
Each defibrillator is estimated to cost €2,000. El Zoco has agreed to install one of the defibrillators, and three more sites in Calahonda have been earmarked for installation. The defibrillators purchased from the fundraiser will be used locally in Calahonda, helping to ensure that life-saving equipment is readily available in the community.

Beginning in September, Diving with Nic in Complejo Jaramar del Chaparral 2, El Chaparral, will restart their CPR courses. The lack of CPR know-how is a common issue that many people lack, highlighting the importance of courses like those offered by Diving with Nic.
The fundraiser event will also feature raffle prizes, and entry to the event is free, although donations and raffle ticket purchases are encouraged. Gerry Hannam and his family want to give their thanks by saving more lives, locally in Calahonda. Join them at Pals Bar on September 24 to support this worthy cause.
