Future BMW models in the New Class X line, intended as Sports Activity Vehicles (SAV), will feature cutting-edge 3D LED technology in both sedan and SUV versions.
The BMW Group has unveiled the BMW Vision Neue Klasse X, a groundbreaking Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) that embodies the future of electric, digital, circular, and driving pleasure. This new model boasts a significant reduction in aerodynamic drag, making it more efficient than ever.
The BMW Vision Neue Klasse X showcases the Neue Klasse architecture, a reimagined design concept that follows the principle of the BMW i Vision Circular, optimizing recyclability. The vehicle's design incorporates a pared-down language with increased ground clearance, large window areas, and a panoramic glass roof, all while representing an active lifestyle, efficient dynamics, and a confident stance.
Under the hood, the BMW Vision Neue Klasse X features a new type of drive and chassis control, powered by a new software stack developed in-house by the BMW Group. The sixth generation of BMW eDrive technology in the Neue Klasse is more efficient than ever, improving charging speed by up to 30 percent and delivering up to 30 percent more range.
The interior of the BMW Vision Neue Klasse X is bright and spacious, featuring special lighting and sound effects enabled by the next generation of BMW iDrive. The vehicle also introduces the Personal Sound Experience with the new HYPERSONX WHEEL, allowing occupants to enjoy their favourite sound on any trip.
The BMW Vision Neue Klasse X's design is innovative, with a vertical interpretation of the BMW light signature, a reimagined BMW kidney grille, and 3D-printed rear lights with variable light intensity. The side skirts and front and rear apron attachments are produced from recycled mono-materials, while the interior uses a new plant-based, mineral-based, and petroleum-free surface material "Verdana" in the lower portion of the door panelling and center console.
The vehicle's technology is equally impressive, featuring four super-brains, including high-performance computers that integrate the entire powertrain and driving dynamics with up to ten times more computing power. The BMW Vision Neue Klasse X also introduces a new Panoramic Vision system that projects key information across the full width of the windscreen.
The BMW Vision Neue Klasse X will be produced in series at the newly built BMW Group plant in Debrecen, Hungary, starting in autumn 2025. This factory operates entirely without fossil fuels and relies on renewable energy sources. Notably, BMW Group Plant Debrecen was planned and developed as an iFACTORY.
The BMW Vision Neue Klasse X is more than just a vehicle; it's a testament to the BMW brand's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the future of mobility. The Neue Klasse is redefining the BMW brand, promising to be more BMW than ever.
