Future Rental Rates by 2025
In the city of Detmold, a new rent index has been introduced, offering a reliable guide for all parties involved in the housing market. The Rent Index Calculator was validated and made available since April 2025, following a unanimous adoption by the city council.
This calculator is a valuable tool that complements the comprehensive data collection and scientific methodology used in creating the Rent Index 2025. The survey for the index was conducted and evaluated by the Hamburg-based ALP Institute for Housing and Urban Development, following the provisions of the Civil Code (§ 558d BGB). Approximately 1,250 households and 600 landlords were surveyed.
The Rent Index Calculator takes into account various factors such as living space, year of construction, equipment, location, and energy efficiency when calculating the local comparative rent for each apartment in Detmold. This means that users can get a personalised and reliable estimate of rental prices in the city.
The creation of new living space in the former British settlement has contributed to the stability of rents in Detmold, although this is not directly related to the Rent Index Calculator.
