G-SHOCK introduces rugged silicone bands for their watches, a product created after a decade of research and innovation.

Casio, the renowned electronics company, has unveiled a new line of watches for its G-SHOCK brand. The highlight of the new collection is the introduction of the Tough Silicone Band, designed to mimic the appearance of a pricier steel timepiece while costing around half the price.

The Tough Silicone Band, developed after ten years of R&D, is more durable and abrasion-resistant than standard silicone surfaces. It's coated with a clear film that makes it look like it's integrated with the case and bezel, providing a seamless and sleek appearance. This new band retains the soft comfortability of a standard silicone band against the skin.

In addition to the Tough Silicone Band, G-SHOCK has also introduced the Fine Metallic series. These watches are available in either silver or gold, and the band for the Fine Metallic Series watches is Tough Silicone, which incorporates urethane resin. The steel bezel of the Fine Metallic watches is given a combination of hairline and mirror finishing, adding to their elegance.

The Case Size for the 5600 models in the Fine Metallic series is 49.6mm × 43.2mm, while for the 2100 models, it is 49.3mm x 44.4mm. The Fine Metallic Series watches are water-resistant to 200m, making them suitable for various activities.

The Movement for the Fine Metallic Series watches is Quartz, ensuring precision and reliability. The watches from the Fine Metallic Series are not limited editions and are scheduled for a January 24 release in Japan, with a wider release expected to follow.

The Full Metal versions of the watches are priced around $550, making them a premium choice. However, the expected price range for the Fine Metallic Series with Tough Silicone Bands is below $300, offering an affordable option for those seeking a stylish and durable watch.

The G-SHOCK Fine Metallic series utilizes stainless steel on the bezel, but the case is made from glass fiber-reinforced resin. The watches from the Fine Metallic Series come with matching stainless steel band loops. The color of the Tough Silicone Band is incorporated more reliably into the resin itself, rather than being merely coated with a metallic coloring, ensuring a long-lasting and attractive appearance.

With the introduction of the Tough Silicone Band and the Fine Metallic series, G-SHOCK continues to push the boundaries of watch design, providing durable, stylish, and affordable timepieces for its customers.
