Galatasaray Have Reached Agreement on Individual Terms with Raphael Onyedika Regarding Transfer Negotiations
Galatasaray and Club Brugge Agree to Transfer Negotiations for Midfielder Raphael Onyedika
After several weeks of speculation, Galatasaray and Club Brugge have officially begun transfer negotiations for midfielder Raphael Onyedika. The 24-year-old Nigerian international has agreed on personal terms with the Turkish club, signalling his eagerness to join the team.
The proposed deal includes a loan fee of €5 million, with a mandatory purchase clause of €15 million, totalling €20 million. Club Brugge is reportedly demanding €25 million for Onyedika's sale, but Galatasaray's offer seems to have been accepted.
The transfer agreement between the two clubs also includes a loan formula with a mandatory purchase option. This means that if Onyedika performs well during his loan spell, Galatasaray will have the obligation to purchase him at the end of the loan period.
Galatasaray is prioritising midfield reinforcements, with Onyedika rising to the top of their shortlist after their failed pursuit of Yves Bissouma. The Turkish club completed the permanent signing of Victor Osimhen earlier this summer and are looking to strengthen their squad further before the transfer window closes.
Meanwhile, Club Brugge is facing challenges in retaining key players, with defender Joel Ordoñez and forward Christos Tzolis potentially leaving. Ordoñez is reportedly pushing for a transfer to Marseille, while Tzolis received a rejected €32 million offer from Crystal Palace.
West Ham United has also shown interest in Onyedika as a potential replacement for Edson Álvarez. However, it appears that the Nigerian midfielder has his heart set on a move to Galatasaray.
A breakthrough in negotiations between the two clubs is expected in the coming days, with both parties optimistic about reaching an agreement. Galatasaray fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their new midfield enforcer, who could make a significant impact on their squad.
