Gambling giant Uno preparing for inroads into U.S. casino market
In an exciting turn of events, the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas is set to host the Uno Social Club, a unique entertainment experience that promises fun, connection, and friendly competition. The move is part of a promotional push orchestrated by Mattel, the company behind the iconic card game, and the Palms Casino Resort.
From July 18 to July 20, visitors to the resort have a chance to win a stay in an Uno-decorated suite. The suite comes equipped with various Uno games, including Uno Teams, Uno Show 'em No Mercy, and Uno Golf, ensuring a truly immersive experience for Uno enthusiasts.
The Uno Social Club in Las Vegas marks just the beginning, according to Ray Adler, Mattel's VP and global head of games. Mattel is planning to roll out more Uno Social Clubs across the United States, with cities like Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, and Austin set to follow in August.
The Uno Social Club is not intended for casino floor wagering. Mattel has emphasized that the event is strictly for entertainment and not for gambling for real money, quelling rumours of actual Uno casino tables. The focus is on reimagining game nights and social engagement rather than introducing Uno as a traditional casino game.
The Palms Casino Resort's decision to feature Uno may incentivize other casinos to consider similar moves. However, as of now, there is no confirmation that other casinos are taking up the popular card game for wagering.
Invented in Cincinnati in 1971 by a barber named Merle Robbins, Uno has been one of the most successful card games of all time. It has become a cultural phenomenon and was widely accepted as an indelible part of everyday life.
With the success of the Uno Social Club at the Palms Casino Resort, Mattel and the Palms Casino Resort are set to redefine social gaming at casinos and entertainment venues. The expansion aims to bring people together for real-world fun, connection, and friendly competition, creating unforgettable memories for Uno fans everywhere.

The Uno Social Club at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, a residential city renowned for its casino-and-gambling culture, is poised to redefine the entertainment scene, as it caters to Uno enthusiasts rather than gamblers. Moreover, Mattel, the creators of the iconic card game, are looking to establish more Uno Social Clubs across major cities in the United States, such as Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, and Austin, further extending the reach of Uno casino-culture beyond Vegas.
