Garden blaze at property site - Shed goes up in flames - Damage inflicted on belongings
On the morning of September 1, 2024, a garden hut was engulfed in flames in the Kleingartenanlage Obergruen of the Verein der Gartenfreunde Freiburg-West, Freiburg-Betzenhausen, Metzgergrün, near the Gueterbahnbruecke.
The fire was reported via emergency call around 4:20 AM, and upon arrival, the fire department and police confirmed the incident. Swift and brave intervention from the Freiburg fire department prevented the fire from spreading to other huts and another at-risk hut from being affected.
The fire was extinguished around 5:30 AM, but the damage from the fire amounted to several thousand euros. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

The Freiburg fire department is also responsible for investigating the origin of the fire. The Freiburg-Nord Police Station and the Freiburg fire department are working together to determine the cause of the fire.
