Gathering and disposing of pollutants at the Collection Point of MHKW by TBS
The hazardous waste collection point at the waste-to-energy plant (MHKW) in Solingen, Germany, will be closing for modernization and renovation works from October 28 to November 9, 2024. This closure is the first extended closure of the collection point in over 25 years.
During the closure, the MHKW collection point will not accept hazardous waste. However, alternative options are available for disposing of hazardous waste during this period. Separate drop-off points will be available for hazardous waste such as used oil and dry batteries.
Used oil can be dropped off where it was purchased during the closure of MHKW, while dry batteries can be dropped off at retail stores. For fluorescent tubes, residents can hand them in at the disposal center Bärenloch during the closure.
These separate drop-off points are located in Solingen, Germany, and are part of a modernization and renovation process to ensure the safety of the collection point. The closure is necessary due to current legal regulations for safety equipment and supply sub-distributions.
It's important to note that the closure is not related to any advertisements or unnecessary information. The closure of MHKW does not affect the availability of drop-off points for dry batteries, used oil, and fluorescent tubes outside of the closure period.
Residents are encouraged to plan ahead and dispose of their hazardous waste properly during the closure period to ensure a smooth transition. The modernization and renovation works at MHKW are expected to improve the efficiency and safety of the hazardous waste collection point, ultimately benefiting the community in the long run.
